About La Marque Housing Authority

The Texas City Housing Authority is a non-profit/governmental agency that is federally funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We are governed by a Board of Commissioners that are appointed by the Mayor. We have been serving the Texas City area since 1950 and the La Marque area since 1996.


Mission Statement

The Texas City Housing Authority's mission is to serve the needs of low-income, very low-income and extremely low-income families in the PHA's jurisdiction and to (1) increase the availability of decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing in its communities; (2) ensure equal opportunity in housing; (3) promote self-sufficiency and asset development of families and individuals; and (4) improve community quality of life an economic viability. The Texas City Housing Authority will strive for improvement of the physical conditions of housing developments and will continually upgrade the management and operations of the public housing agency, while developing and enhancing a stronger healthier and viable economic initiative-related to low-income housing assistance and while encouraging self-sufficiency and independence for its residents.
